Apple applies the Drucker dictum with innovation, entrepreneurship and risk taking.

Peter Drucker first offered a distinct view of marketing as the central management discipline by asserting: ‘There is PeterDrucker-300x250only one valid definition of business purpose: to create a customer… Because it is its purpose to create a customer, any business enterprise has two— and only these two—basic functions: marketing and innovation. They are the entrepreneurial functions.’

Drucker went on to define the aim of marketing: The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itself.

The essence of the Apple brand is ultimately its customer experience.
